The Sun represents the innermost self. The Sun sign represents traits that you have come to integrate or blend with those of the Moon by sign. The Moon is the past and so manifesting the Sun sign traits will move you forward. The Sun in the chart represents personal growth and so wherever the Sun is placed in the chart is an area of life where the individual meets a major life challenge. When this is successfully dealt with, the individual feels a sense of completeness or life satisfaction. Since the light of the Sun is very bright, this area where it shines on will not be ignored. The Sun sign traits show us how to deal with the challenges represented by its house placement. The Sun in the chart also gives us clues about issues that the father dealt with. These issues often have an influence on the individual. The Sun represents the will. It represents children as well as the inner child. Learning how to get in touch with one's inner child can bring profound changes into one’s life. The Sun is a flame that burns within each of us and can provide a cosmic link to our true spiritual nature. By sign, the Sun is how you express your will, express your real self---how you were influenced by the father or how the father was, and how you meet the challenges of the Sun house placement. By house, it is where you want to be successful, where you feel the father’s influence, or where a major life challenge exists, or where you may have a male influence. The Sun represents authority figures, major goals, self-esteem, self-confidence, creative endeavors, your inner child and a female's idea of a husband--to name a few. The Sun energy is also hard to ignore, pride, importance, growth, satisfaction, ambition, and respect---to name a few. The Sun is the King and displays similarities to the Solar Plexus. The astrological sign it matches with is Leo. The Solar constitution is generally medium height with a strong athletic physique. They are generally pita. Solar types are warm due to strong circulation since the Sun is primarily associated with the heart. It is connected to the thymus, which is where our immune system gets trained. You can also see it connected with the eyes and the overall energy. Too much Solar influence can affect the nervous system and can lead to high blood pressure imbalances. This will then disturb the metabolism resulting in accumulation of waste materials. This can also affect the heart, circulation, digestion, diabetes, overall energy and even libido, along with vision issues. In its positive expression the individual will be confident, cheerful, positive, a leader and have a strong willpower. In a negative Solar expression, the individual will be overpowering, bossy, self-centered, domineering, egocentric and wanting to constantly be the center of attention. Lacking Sun will display shyness, lack of confidence, and fear to demonstrate one’s strength and power. Depression is a very common symptom of Solar deficiency. Sun remedies shine light into our dark places and give us the courage to heal. They help with providing clarity, inspiration and insight. They're great for those who lack confidence, self-worth, self-esteem and those who tend towards depression. A few examples of Sun herbs are Rosemary, Hawthorne, Ashwagandha, Ginger and St. John's wort.
