Astrologers are still observing the effects of Pluto since it is the last planet to be officially discovered to date. However, it does seem to relate strongly to complete breakdowns, followed by regeneration. Pluto creates chaos and destruction more on the physical plane. Pluto represents extremes all or nothing, rags to riches, do or die. To have a friend like Pluto would mean one who will fight on our side until the bitter end. And yet, if Pluto is our enemy, it can be our worst nightmare coming to visit. Pluto’s desire is to control completely. A saying related to Pluto is “all is fair in love and war”. The lighter side of Pluto represents healing. And as Pluto is a higher octave of Mars and Mars has the impulsive ego centric energy, Pluto has a more celestial pull. Pluto leads us to our destiny, path, and deeper purpose. With this being said, Pluto can bring that which is hidden into the light to be purified and released. When somebody says, “it was hell, but I made it,” they are talking about the Pluto effect. Whatever Pluto is influencing, it will transform completely. This can be a person's thinking, money, belief system, lifestyle or anything else. Pluto is capable of horrendous destruction, but regeneration always follows. It is the same death to rebirth principle that we find in nature. Destruction appears and stays for a while, but eventually new life begins to form miraculously among the devastation. Pluto by sign is how your generation creates complete change, and experiences extremes. By house is where you may want to create a complete change, or where you are in control or are being controlled. Pluto also represents obsessive behaviors, manipulation, crime, healing, and abuse of power, to name a few. Pluto energy is also purging, transformation, rejuvenation, death rebirth, extreme violence and complete breakdowns, to name a few. Pluto is associated with Scorpio. It is very similar, again, to Mars’ energy but with an UMPH. It is the ruler of chaos and confusion, of the deep areas in the psyche which lie dormant. Pluto pushes you to your darkest extremes but ultimately helps transform them into gifts and into something good, true, and beautiful. Sajah Popham said it best when he stated: Often when Pluto is a strong ruler in the chart, or is making a powerful transit, there is often something that must die, something deep that we must let go of that we originally thought we couldn't live without. We hit rock bottom. We face our demons. We descend into the underworld. We die. But as with all of nature the process of regeneration ensues and we thus reborn. Ultimately, this is the process of transformation. No planet is good or bad. The way a planet manifests itself depends on the individual and how they consciously, or unconsciously, choose to use the planets’ energy. So, Pluto is intense but pushes us to see a greater power within us. Judith Hill, a medical astrologer, believes that Pluto could be related to obsession, plagues, DNA and genetic illnesses, radiation, cancer, mutation, and drug resistant bacteria.
