NEPTUNE Energy - Astrology

Neptune is considered to be a higher octave of Venus. You will find a lot of the Venus energy but you're also going to see that it that has a lot of the same traits as Pisces. By sign, Neptune is how your generation is confused or lacks clearly defined boundaries. By house is how you are confused, deceived or how you deceive, how you have doubts, or where you may have forgiveness issues. Neptune also represents escapist behaviors, drugs, addictions, the spiritual plane, angels, spirit guides, conspiracy, the paranormal and music, to name a few. The energy of Neptune is also no boundaries, fantasy, extremes, guilt, feeling guilty, sacrifice, naïve, paranoid, reflective and tuning out, to name a few. Neptune’s function is to dissolve the hard and fast boundaries that separate us from what is commonly referred to as the real world. We associate Neptune with things such as imagination, creativity and even ultimate enlightenment. The word spiritual describes those planes of existence where we may receive inspiration, spiritual guidance and other paranormal experiences. It is in this state of no boundaries that we can tune into higher vibration of the planet Neptune. When we do tune into these other realms of Neptune, we can meet other sorts of entities either lower energy or higher energy. Many psychics who see visions and hear spirit voices, they're tuning into that vibration. We also see this with others known as “insane” who say they are only following orders from the voices that they hear in their head. Neptune’s higher potential is to bring healing in the form of forgiveness and be of service to others. Neptune types can fall into the martyr category and without boundaries they might be very self-sacrificing, compassionate, but can end up feeling like a victim, or feelings of guilt and unworthiness. This is why Neptune is complemented by the boundary drawing function of Virgo, which is the opposite sign of Pisces. Because the nature of Neptune is associated with that which we often do not see clearly, it also represents those things which may deceive us, or things that we do not want to face about ourselves and sometimes it's reflected to us through the actions of others. Addictive behaviors and drugs are under the influence of Neptune because of that need to withdraw from existence and the illusion that is created by Neptune’s fogginess. Another of Neptune’s properties is fantasy, creating fantasy, becoming whatever it is one may desire at the moment. Actors often have a strong Neptune or Pisces energy in their charts. Musicians, composers, movie producers, artists, singers, all fall into the Neptune energy. Neptune energy is considered to be our consciousness itself. Because Neptune is associated with mysticism and spiritual experiences and meditation, there could be some good things to come from it. We could look at our stresses and troubles and see the big picture and think that they're not that big of a deal anymore. If we get these spiritual lessons, we can successfully pass on through the next levels of our evolutionary journey. The downside is that we can get lost in that realm and instead of seeing things in a spiritual way, we might just want to escape, and this is when things can just get out of hand. We can get into escapism, addictions and a general lack of connection to reality. I will quote from my notes from Sajah Popham from The School of Herbalism, “It can create a chronic state of passivity spiraling down into a will-less and depressed state of mind with an extremely nebulous sense of self. The ego becomes weakened as there is an over identification with the subtle spiritual world and a detachment from the bond of physical existence.” Neptune also represents a particular area in our lives where we are extremely sensitive, creative, possess our visionary abilities, or where we are weakened and lose touch of the physical reality. Neptune energy exists beneath the surface, something that that you cannot see but you can just sense. Through the Neptune energy you can see how everything is connected. As the higher octave of Venus, Neptune can show you divine love and compassion. In a medical perspective, Neptune brings a constitutional weakness to that area of the body. The energy, again, is very nebulous, mystical, difficult to track in the body. Because of this many times there will be illnesses that are really difficult to diagnose and those kinds of illnesses that are just a mystery. If that happens, Neptune may be at play. A key word would be “hidden”. Neptune is also associated with psychiatric disturbances such as schizophrenia, insanity, multiple personality disorders, delusions and poisoning, toxins, etc. Neptune also indicates spiritual causes of disease such as hexes, curses, and intrusive energy. As the ruler of Pisces and the 12th house, Neptune could bring sleep, drowsiness, and low energy levels.
